In 1886, Atlanta druggist Dr. John Stith Pemberton mixed the first batch of ingredients for now famous Coca-Cola, In 1899 a candy store owner bottled Coke for the first time in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Since then, Coca-Cola has gone on to become the most popular soft drink of all time and the most recognized trademark int he world. In 1942, Coca-Cola and artist Haddon Sundblom first introduced the Sprite Boy to help promote the name “Coke”. For years, the silver haired little elfin boy graced the ads for Coke, sometimes wearing a soda Jerk’s hat to promote fountain drinks, or the distinctive bottle cap to promote bottled Coke.
