Illinois State Fair Aug. 9-19 “Kitchen Pride on Parade” (Paperback)
In 1967, an idea was born which became what is now the Illinois State Fair Blue Ribbon culinary Contest. In that year, Ruby Graves, who was demonstrating at the Illinois State Fair as a Power Company Home Economist, felt it would be a good idea to have an amateur Bake-off contest in conjunction with the fair.
That following year, 1968, was the first Bake-off competition and 300-400 recipes were submitted. through the years the contest has changed to some extent.
These are recipes from the winners of the 1979 Blue Ribbon Contest.
