Rachel Goodman runs a preschool program for children who have been exposed to violence. As a young girl she witnessed her mother’s murder and uses her preschool to help children adjust after trauma. Nick is the new handyman at the school. He’s reliable but aloof. In the course of one fateful day, the two of them are flung together. A young boy is missing and there are threats on Rachel’s life. Nick is a former gunrunner and trying to rebuild his life when the man he used to work for locates him and forces him to go on an assignment. Nick has no choice, if he does not take the assignment the school–and Rachel–will suffer.
